11 political parties ask court to stop Lagos LG elections

The forthcoming local government elections in Lagos State, scheduled for July 24, continues to face threats, as more interested parties head to court to challenge the exercise.

This latest lawsuit involves eleven political parties, who filed an application before a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, seeking to stop the council elections.

The aggrieved political parties Alliance of Social Democrats, All Grand Alliance Party, Change Advocacy Party, and the Mega Party of Nigeria.

Others are Progressive People’s Alliance, Save Nigeria Congress, We The People’s Nigeria, Young Democratic Party, Advanced Congress of Democrats, and Mass Movement of Nigeria.

They all want the want the Court to order the Lagos State Independent Election Commission to register them for the election.
