18 suspected terrorists surrender to troops in Sambisa Forest

The Nigerian Army says eighteen suspected terrorists have surrendered to troops in the Sambisa forest area of Borno State.

The terrorists from Chingori village reportedly surrendered with eighteen adult women, who are said to be their wives, and nineteen children.

This was confirmed in a statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu.

He said that more Boko Haram and Islamic State West African Province terrorists are surrendering as troops of Operations Hadin Kai intensify pressure in the fight against them.

The Army spokesman recalled that over one hundred terrorists and their families had two weeks ago surrendered to troops in the North-East.
