ASUU accuses FG of insincerity, as strike continues

The Academic Staff Union of Universities says public universities in Nigeria would have died if not for its agitations.

The umbrella body of lecturers in universities across Nigeria also said its continues engagement with the government is to make that the future of young Nigerians is protected.

ASUU’s National President, Professor BIODUN OGUNYEMI, gave these indications during an interview on a television programme monitored from Lagos.

ASUU has been on strike since March this year, and efforts to reach an agreement with the government have not produced any result.

The Federal Government representatives had said they were going to make the leadership of ASUU an offer they would not reject, by Professor OGUNYEMI said there were still waiting.
