Nollywood actor accused of sexually abusing a minor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has been dragged before the Yaba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.
Baba Ijesha was taken to court inside a Black Maria earlier today, but the court refused to grant the bail application filed on his behalf by his lawyers.
Before he was taken to court, the embattled actor had been in detention at the State C.I.D, Panti, Yaba since he was arrested on April 22, 2021.
Recall that Baba Ijesha had previously been granted bail by a Chief Magistrate during a visitation to police detention facilities, but his bail conditions could not be met.
He was accused by popular comedienne, Adekola Adekanya, who is also known as Princess, of sexually assaulting a fourteen-year-old girl under her care.
The Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions had recommended that five sexual offences charges be filed against Baba Ijesha, under the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
