Buhari hails 9th National Assembly renews pledge to tackle insecurity

President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged the commitment of his administration to do everything within its powers to end insecurity in the country.

President Buhari, who spoke at a dinner in Abuja with members of the National Assembly, also assured that everything would be done to bring perpetrators of criminal activities to book.

The President told his guests at the State House Conference Centre that insecurity in the forms of insurgencies, banditry, kidnapping and urban crime of all sorts is the single most difficult challenge his government was facing at the moment.

However; President Buhari praised members of the ninth National Assembly for doing their job of lawmaking with maturity and competence.

Buhari listed some of the achievements of the National Assembly as the amendment of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, the Nigeria Police Act, the Finance Act, and the Deep Offshore Production Sharing Contract Act.

Meanwhile; President Muhammdu Buhari has presented the 2022-2024 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper to the National Assembly for consideration and approval.

The MTEF-FSP is meant to lay the foundation for the presentation of the 2022 Budget of the Federal Government by December, in line with the January-December budget circle.
