COVID19 Lockdown: Lagos State Government revises resumption of Civil Servants

The Lagos State Government has shifted the resumption of civil servants of grade level 15 and above to tomorrow, Tuesday, May 5, 2020.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the adjustment during a media briefing yesterday, ahead of the gradual easing of the COVID-19 lockdown, which begins today.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also said state civil servants of grade level 14 and below are to stay at home from Monday, May 4, 2020.

Meanwhile; Lagos markets where non-food items are sold are to open for three days in a week, under the gradual easing of the COVID19 lockdown.

Lagos State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs,  Wale Ahmed, said that the markets and stores will be opened on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9AM to 3PM.

Alternatively; the Commissioner said all food and farm produce sellers will operatfre on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The Commissioner warned that the State Government would not tolerate street trading, just as he directed that all safety measures must be observed in the markets to check the spread of the COVID19 in Lagos State.
