Dave Umahi and Orji Uzor Kalu declare for 2023 presidential election

The list of Nigerians who have declared interest to contest the 2023 presidential election is growing.

The latest to join the race are Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, and the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

Governor Umahi made his intention known while briefing journalists at the State House in Abuja, after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Governor Umahi, who doubles as Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum, also cautioned the Ohanaeze Ndigbo not to get involved in politics.

On his part; Senator Orji Uzor Kalu announced his intention to run for president in the 2023 elections in a televised interview at his residence in Abuja.

Senator Kalu, who is a former governor of Abia State, faulted former governor of Lagos State, Bola Amhed Tinubu, on his ambition to become Nigeria’s next President.

The APC Senator for Abia North Senatorial District said he was ready to match TINUBU in the race for the presidential ticket of the ruling party.

Recall that the APC national leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had on Monday declared his interest to run in the 2023 presidential election after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
