The Federal Government has observed that one hundred and six frequencies were being transmitted illegally in five geo-political zones across Nigeria.
The illegal frequencies are among three hundred and twenty that were discovered in the north-east, north-west, north-central, south-west and south-south.
The Federal Executive Council has also approved the sum of six hundred and fifty-three point nine million naira for a hybrid spectrum to monitor illegal frequencies in the south-east.
This was announced by the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, ISSA PANTAMI, after the meeting of the Federal Executive Council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
PANTAMI also said the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, ABUBAKAR MALAMI, has advised that those behind the illegal frequencies should be prosecuted.
