FIFA puts cost of Covid-19 pandemic at $11B

The football world governing body estimates that the game has lost about eleven billion US dollars to the Covid-19 pandemic.

FIFA noted that the revenue losses caused by the pandemic had forced about one hundred and fifty football associations to look for help.

The associations are targeting FIFA’s one point five billion dollars’ emergency relief fund for the Covid-19 pandemic.

Chairman of FIFA’s Coronavirus Steering Committee OLLI REHN, empty stadiums and loss of TV rights revenue account for the losses.
