Fuel Scarcity looms, as PENGASSAN down tools

Members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, have withdrawn their services.

PENGASSAN called the strike at the end of a seven-day deadline the union gave to the Federal Government.

The indefinite nationwide strike was confirmed by PENGASSAN President, FESTUS OSIFO, in a television interview earlier today.

OSIFO said they decided to go on strike because the Federal Government failed to tackle some pressing issues concerning the oil and gas workers.

The issues include unfair labour practices by private oil company, including the sacking of union members without following the due process.

The strike called by PENGASSAN has also sparked fears of fuel scarcity in Nigeria.
