INEC extends voters registration in Southeast over sit-at-home order

The Independent National Electoral Commission has extended the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration in the Southeastern part of the country.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of Enugu State, Emeka Ononamadu, made the disclosure in Enugu during an INEC engagement with stakeholders on the ongoing fourth quarter of Continuous Voters Registration.

Ononamadu said that INEC had added more time on days for the Continuous Voters Registration in Southeast to accommodate for the Monday’s disruption caused by the weekly-sit-at-home order.

The REC disclosed that registration is now from nine AM to five PM as against nine AM to three PM, attributing the low turnout of registrants to fear and insecurity.
