INEC meets security stakeholders for Anambra State election

The Independent National Electoral Commission is going ahead with preparations for the governorship election in Anambra State on November 6.

This is in spite of threat to the conduct of the election following the violence trailing the activities of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra.

INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, yesterday, held a meeting with members of the Inter- Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security.

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, and the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Nkwachukwu Orji, attended the meeting at INEC’s Headquarters in Abuja.

INEC also announced that the voting shall be done based on the newly introduced Continuous Accreditation and Voting System procedure.
