Kwara Hijab Crisis: mission school staff ordered to report for duty

The Kwara State Government has ordered principals, teachers and staff of ten mission schools affected by the Hijab crisis to report at their duty posts today.

The directive was issued by the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, Bello Abubakar; a day after violent clashes erupted at some of the schools that reopened on Wednesday.

In a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Peter Amogbonjaye, the Executive Chairman of the Commission said the schools needed to prepare their final year students for external examinations.

Bello Abubakar warned that any staff that failed to report at their duty posts would face the full wrath of the law, adding that the state government would not accept any act of insubordination.

Abubakar also warned all stakeholders against taking laws into their hands, stressing that efforts would continue between the government and the stakeholders to settle the matter.
