The Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of Police Brutality has resumed hearing of petitions by victims of the Lekki Tollgate shooting on the night of October 20, 2020.
One Nathaniel Solomon, the brother of late Nicholas Okpe, appeared before the panel and recalled how he recovered the body of his brother at the Lekki Tollgate on the night of the shooting.
However; Lagos State Counsel, Olukayode Enitan kicked against claims that late Okpe died of gunshot wounds fired by soldiers, and accused the brother of the deceased of being a gold digger.
After listening to the argument from both sides, the Chairman of the Judicial Panel, retired Justice Doris Okuwobi said lawyers would be informed about the decision of the panel.
