Lagos State considers Home Isolation, as Covid-19 patients evade admission

The Lagos State Government is considering home isolation of Covid-19 patients due to the problem of stigmatization.

This is because of many persons who test positive for Covid-19 usually fail to present themselves for admission into isolation centres.

The Commissioner of Health, Professor AKIN ABAYOMI, said many confirmed Covid-19 cases could not be traced because of false contact details.

Professor ABAYOMI said the state would have run out of bed space at its isolation facilities if all the Covid-19 patients were admitted.

The Health Commissioner who was addressing newsmen in Lagos, said more confirmed Covid-19 cases should be expected in the coming weeks, as the state was yet to see its peak.
