Mass resignation hits PDP NWC
  • Wike doubts Buhari on credible elections

The national leadership of the main opposition People’s Democratic Party has been hit by mass resignation.

Seven national officers of the PDP announced their resignation in separate letters to the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.

They are the Deputy National Financial Secretary, Deputy National Auditor, Deputy Woman Leader, Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Deputy National Organising Secretary, and Deputy National Legal Adviser.

They alleged that they were not being carried along and treated well by the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus.

Meanwhile; Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has expressed doubt about President Muhammdu Buhari’s promise to conduct a credible election in 2023.

Governor Wike also said the failure by the APC-dominated National Assembly to approve electronic transmission of election results is a coup against Nigerians who are calling for free, fair and credible elections.

Speaking during a meeting with some visitors at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Governor Wike described National Assembly members who voted against electronic transmission of election results as enemies of the country.
