The parliament of Tanzania has confirmed Philip Isdor Mpango as the country’s new vice-president.
Mpango was Tanzania’s Finance Minister until his new appointment, and he now files the gap left behind by President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Samia Suluhu Hassan was also elevated to president following the death of former President John Magufuli.
The new Vice President had also served as an economic adviser to former President Jakaya Kikwete.
