An Airman who allegedly diverted the sum of twenty million naira that was mistakenly paid into his bank account has landed in trouble with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Lance Corporal Haruna Samuel of the Nigerian Air Force Base in Kaduna was arrested by operatives from the Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC.
Haranu is alleged to have received a credit alert of the sum of twenty million, fourteen thousand, three hundred naira into his bank account from the account of his employer.
Instead of reporting the wrong transaction, Haruna allegedly withdrew part of the money for personal use, including settling debts.
EFCC Prosecutor arraigned Lance Corporal HARUNA before Justice DARIUS KHOBO of the Kaduna State High Court sitting in Kaduna on a one count charge of theft and criminal misappropriation.
