NDLEA arrests five suspected members of Lagos Airport drug syndicate, recovers N19.8 million cash

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency has arrested five suspects members of the drug gang that operates at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.

The suspects were identified as Ofijeh John Mowa, Nyam Gazu Alex, Adesanwo Temitope, Owoseni Taiwo Temidayo, Fasoranti Shola, and Bamigbade Jonathan.

The NDLEA said its operatives also recovered the sum of nineteen point eight million naira from the prime suspect of the gang, identified as Yunana Fidelis.

The agency said the gang is allegedly behind the smuggling of over one point five million tablets of Tramadol, with a different brand name, which was seized at the airport on March 15 this year.

NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, further confirmed Reuben Bekwari in Owerri, Imo State over alleged production of Methamphetamine, which is known as Mkpuru-Mmiri.

Babafemi said a lawyer, Mayowa Oluwanisomo, was also arrested in Ekiti State following the nationwide sting operation targeted at drug cartels.
