The Super Eagles of Nigeria have won their first match in the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The Nigerian national defeated their Egyptian opponents one-zero in their opening Group-D game, which was played in the Cameroonian city of Garoua.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored the only goal of the game in the thirtieth-minute.
Super Eagles head coach Austine Eguavoen has in the meantime hailed his players for their superb display against Egypt.
Austine Eguavoen told journalists after the game that he believed that the Super Eagles will beat the Egyptians, adding that the players executed his plan for the match.
Nigeria’s next game is against Sudan on Saturday.
