Imo State Governor, HOPE UZODINMA, has imposed a nighttime curfew on nine local government areas that cut across Orlu Zone in the state.
The affected areas comprise of Orlu, Orsu, Oru-East, Oru-West, Ideato-North, Ideao-South, Njaba, Isu, Nwangele and Nkwerre.
Governor UZODINMA announced the dusk-to-dawn curfew in a state broadcast in reaction to violent clashes between security operatives and suspected members of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra.
The Governor said the killing and maiming innocent citizen was no acceptable, adding that he had directed security agencies to bring those responsible to justice.
