Ohanaeze cautions IPOB on lawlessness, as Gov Uzodinma talks tough on sit-at-home

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has warned that the lawless activities of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra are destroying the South-East region instead of liberating the people.

The umbrella body of all groups in the South-East Geopolitical Zone appealed to IPOB and other secessionist agitators in the region to push their demands through dialogue.

The President-General of Ohanaeza Ndigbo, Professor George Obiozor, made the call during the annual celebration of Igbo Day.

Professor advised IPOB leaders to take note of the danger of violence in Igboland, adding that what is currently happening in Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi states is not liberation but destruction and devastation.

In a related development; Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has warned that the sit-at-home order by the banned Indigenous People of Biafra will no longer be tolerated.

Governor Uzodinma, who issued the warning while addressing newsmen in Owerri, said such order will no longer be obeyed by people in the state.

Uzodinma also called on Nigerians to embrace things that unite the country, as the nation prepare to celebrate its sixty first Independence Day on Friday.
