PDP governors urge National Assembly to override President Buhari on Electoral Act Amendment Bill

State governors elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party have called on the National Assembly to override President Muhammadu Buhari on the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.

The PDP Governors, who took the decision and eight others during a meeting at the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt, said early conclusion of the matter was important for the credibility of the 2023 general election.

Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, who read the communique, said the National Assembly could also delete areas of complaint in the Electoral Bill.

The PDP Governors also criticized the APC-led Federal Government for failing to match the records of the past PDP Administration, which they said left a five hundred and fifty billion dollars’ economy in 2015.

They also pointed out that the security situation in the country had nearly collapsed under the APC administration, with terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities on the increase in the country.
