Police arrest 41 Robbers, foils 28 attacks in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of forty-one armed robbery suspects during the month of June.

Policemen in Lagos were also able to stop about twenty-eight robbery attacks in different parts of the state, with a suspected robber killed in one of the operations.

Furthermore, police detectives arrested one hundred and ninety-five persons on suspicion of cultism; four were arrested for kidnapping and fifty-two others are in detention for alleged murder.

The Commissioner of Police, HAKEEM ODUMOSU, confirmed the developments while briefing newsmen at the State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja.

C.P. ODUMOSU said there were also six cases of suicide that were recorded last month, while four suicide attempts were prevented.

The state police chief said his men recovered nineteen assorted firearms with lots of ammunition, as well as six stolen vehicles.

Also during the period; the police arrested nine suspected fraudsters who specialize in defrauding people with fake US dollars.
