Police insist on ban of street protests in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has reinstated its ban on street protests to mark the anniversary of the EndSARS protest of October last year.

The State Police Command says it will only allow an indoor and virtual programmes to mark the anniversary of the EndSARS protest, with enough security at such venues.

The Police Public Relations Officer, C.S.P. Adekunle Ajisebutu, said the police have received report about by some faceless persons and groups to hold counter protest in the state.

Ajisebutu said the police recognize the that citizens have the right to peaceful protests, but such protests would not be allowed because of concerns for public safety.
