President Buhari replaces suspended NECO Registrar

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has approved the replacement of Professor CHARLES UWAKWE with ABUBAKAR GANA as registrar and chief executive officer of the National Examinations Council, NECO.

GANA assumed the leadership of NECO in acting capacity, following the removal of Professor UWAKWE over allegation of misconduct, two years after his suspension in May, 2018.

The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, SONNY ECHONO, announced the decision in a letter he signed on behalf of the Minister of Education, ADAMU ADAMU.

In a separate letter; President BUHARI also approved the dismissal of four management staff of NECO who were accused of fraud.
