Pressure by Kogi State threatens telecoms services in 11 states

The Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria has warned about disruption of communication services in parts of the country.

Areas to be affected include Kogi, Nassarawa, Benue, Enugu, Anambra, Edo, Ondo, Ekiti, Kwara, and Niger states, as well as parts of Abuja.

The association said this is because of pressure by the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service to shut down some telecommunications sites in the state.

The group said the Kogi State government wants to force its members to pay more taxes and levies so as to increase its internally generated revenue.
