Award-winning R and B singer, Robert Sylvester Kelly, popularly known as R. Kelly, has appeared before a federal court in New York.
Fifty-four-year-old R. Kelly is accused of racketeering, sexual abuse and bribery, involving six unnamed women, but he has denied the charges.
Some of the allegations made against the singer date back more than twenty years, when his music career began, and if he is convicted on all counts, he could spend more than twenty years in prison.
