Supreme Court Kogi sets date for judgement on Kogi Governorship Election dispute

The Supreme Court will on August 31, 2020, deliver judgment on the Kogi State governorship election dispute.

The judgment is on an appeal filed by MUSA WADA, who was the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party.

WADA is challenging the second term election of Governor YAHAYA BELLO on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

The PDP candidate and his party claim that the election on November 16, 2019 was not properly done.

The Governorship Election Tribunal had in May dismissed the petition on grounds that the petitioners failed to prove their allegations.

The Court of Appeal also upheld the Tribunal’s judgment, before the PDP and its candidate went to the Supreme Court.
