Treason trial of IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu, begins Thursday

A Federal High Court in Abuja has decided to conduct the trial of the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra, NNAMDI KANU, in his absence, beginning from Thursday, November 26, 2020.

The move comes almost twenty-one months after Justice BINTA NYAKO revoked the bail granted KANU and ordered the arrest of the IPOB leader on March 28, 2019.

Justice NYAKO granted an application by the lead prosecuting counsel, MAGAJI LABARAN, to resume the trial of KANU because of his failure to appear in court since April 25, 2017.

Copies of hearing notices seen by some journalists in Abuja show that the prosecution have lined up five witnesses to testify against KANU in his trial for alleged treason.
