UN Secretary General calls for humanitarian ceasefire in Ukraine

The United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called for a ceasefire in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Guterres directed the UN humanitarian chief Martin Griffiths to explore the possibility of a humanitarian ceasefire in Ukraine.

He said the measure was necessary to allow for progress in serious political negotiations that are aimed at reaching a peace agreement.

Meanwhile; the Group of Seven most industrialized nations have rejected Russia’s demand to pay for energy in its local currency, the Ruble.
