Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) and some other political groups don blast Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for say im go lead President Bola Tinubu 2027 re-election campaign.
For one media chat wey happen for Abuja on Monday, Wike talk say na big asset im be wey go help Tinubu win 2027 election. Di former Rivers State Governor also talk say im no do any anti-party wahala and challenge PDP make dem suspend am if dem believe otherwise.
But PDP Deputy National Youth Leader, Timothy Osadolor, tell Nigerians make dem no mind wetin Wike talk. Im say di party go soon discipline am. CUPP spokesperson, Mark Adebayo, call Wike “President hatchet man” and accuse am say im dey try scatter opposition parties. NNPP still talk say even if Wike support Tinubu, e no go stop defeat for 2027.
Wike, as e dey talk for di media parley, say: “I still dey PDP. I work hard for dis party. Nobody fit tell me say I no be PDP member. Who be di person? Wetin e don contribute pass me?”
E come dey vex say PDP no follow agreement wey talk say presidency suppose go South, instead dem support former VP Atiku Abubakar. Na why im no support PDP presidential candidate for 2023.
“In 2023, I talk am say I no go support dem. Based on fairness, presidency suppose go South. You no fit hold both presidency and national chairman. Dem no gree, so I no support dem. But why I no leave PDP go join APC? Out of all PDP governors dat time, who get full National Assembly and governor? Ask dem,” na wetin Wike talk.
E still add say im be correct asset for Tinubu re-election: “I no be liability. I be asset. Whether una like am or not, I go help make sure Tinubu win second term.”
E also talk say PDP leadership na the reason why many people dey defect go APC, especially for Delta and Akwa Ibom states. “Leadership suppose act. If dem see say state wan fall, dem suppose send people go ask why. But PDP just dey do anyhow.”
One PDP chieftain respond say PDP go soon follow due process to discipline Wike. “Dis party get process and rules. At di right time, we go enforce our rules. PDP big pass any individual,” e talk.
Timothy Osadolor come beg Nigerians and PDP members make dem ignore Wike. E say Wike don lose him political control inside PDP. “Yes, Wike still influential for Nigeria, but im no hold power for PDP again. All this one wey im dey talk na cry because dem don sideline am. PDP still get better chance to collect power from dis government.”
Osadolor say even for Rivers in 2023, Wike support no help much. “So make Nigerians no dey carry all this media noise for head. This government go be one-term. And no be PDP alone go do am. Nigerians go use PDP send message. So make we focus and no let Wike distract us.”
PDP BoT member, Bode George, talk say di party go field southern candidate for 2027 and dem no go support Tinubu. “All this waka-waka people wey dey talk anyhow, dem think say na only Tinubu fit be president for 2027? PDP no go support am, e no be our member,” he talk.
E still blast defectors wey leave PDP go APC. “Wetin dem dey find for another party? Nigerians dey suffer. People hungry. Yet people dey jump ship.”
George vow say e go lead PDP campaign for 2027 and 2031. “2027 na turn of southerner. We go find person from South inside PDP. 2031 go return go North. I go lead dat campaign.”
E say PDP mistake for 2023 na say dem no follow zoning. “Our party constitution clear. Section 7(3c) say we go rotate and zone offices for fairness and justice. Wetin sense dey for give North ticket again for 2023?”
CUPP Publicity Secretary, Mark Adebayo, talk say Wike support no go save Tinubu. “Wike na political opportunist. Even though im dey PDP, im don dey work with APC. Im be Tinubu hitman, agent wey dey scatter PDP for Tinubu second term.
“But come 2027, hunger and hardship go campaign pass anybody. Nigerians go vote dis government out. No matter who lead Tinubu campaign, dem no go save am.”
NNPP spokesperson, Ladipo Johnson, talk say na Nigerians wey dey suffer go decide Tinubu fate for 2027, no be Wike. “FCT Minister no dey behave like opposition. PDP suppose control am, but if dem no fit, den dem weak. 2027 no depend on politicians. Nigerians go ask whether life better pass 2023. Na dem go decide.”
Action Democratic Party VP candidate, Okey Udo, blast Wike say im dey do anti-party. “PDP suppose dey above anybody. Wike action show say di party no dey organised. Dem dey fear am, but who go win 2027 no certain. Politicians go align how dem want.”
Former APC presidential aspirant, Charles Udeogaranya, say Wike dual loyalty no go work. “Im still be PDP member. Im suppose resign join APC if na APC im dey work for. Everybody get right to support who dem want, but make im choose clearly.”
Obidient Movement leader, Yunusa Tanko, say Wike no be opposition again. “You no fit talk for opposition when you dey government. Na who pay piper dey dictate song. Parties no get discipline again.”
PDP Ogun State Publicity Secretary, Kayode Adebayo, say if na real democracy we dey practice, Wike suppose don chop expulsion. “Im dey work against PDP interest and na long time im don dey do am. Na our party leadership go decide, but truth be say, dem suppose don expel am tey tey.”
PDP South-West leader, Kamorudeen Ajisafe, say Wike fit talk wetin im like. “Im don mature. I no go blame am. Im get right to talk im mind.”
Bauchi PDP spokesperson, Dayyabu Ciroma, say Wike days for PDP dey count. “We no go allow am scatter PDP. Im no dey accept reconciliation. So everybody know where im stand. Im days numbered.”
Jigawa PDP say Wike statement na insult. “We no go gree. PDP no go bow to anybody wey wan spoil our values,” na wetin di spokesperson Umar Kyari talk.
But APC spokesperson, Bala Ibrahim, defend Wike say im get right to express opinion. “People forget say democracy give freedom to support who you want. As Minister of FCT, Wike suppose work make Tinubu succeed. So if im support im boss, no wahala dey.”
Meanwhile, Wike former media aide, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, and Rivers APC chairman, Emeka Beke, blast Wike say im dey attack Amaechi. Former PDP National Secretary, Prof Wale Oladipo, say e no go blame Wike, but e concern say Wike still hold PDP position and serve Tinubu.
“Wike dey wear two caps now. Im dey PDP BoT and still be minister. So if im support im boss for 2027, I no go blame am. E dey happen before. Some PDP governors don support opposition before too. At least Wike talk im mind. Party go take action when di time reach,” na wetin Oladipo talk.
