Heavy flood wey happen for Mokwa Local Government Area for Niger State don kill 21 people and still leave more than 10 people wey nobody sabi where dem dey, after serious rain fall wey happen overnight.
According to wetin Acting Director General of Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Ibrahim Hussaini, talk, the flood hit the Tiffin Maza and Anguwan Hausawa areas for Mokwa town as heavy rain fall wey last for hours scatter the place.
The flood water enter and carry more than 50 houses with the people wey dey inside, wey cause plenty people to die and serious loss of property.
NSEMA, together with Mokwa Local Government, local divers and brave volunteers, begin quick search and rescue to find people wey survive and recover dead bodies.
As at the time wey dem give this report, three people – one woman and her two pikin – dey hospital for Mokwa General Hospital as dem dey receive treatment for injury and shock.
“So far, we don recover 21 dead bodies, and we still dey look for more than 10 people wey miss,” na wetin Hussaini yarn.
NSEMA don promise say dem go continue to support and give help to the families and communities wey this flood affect.
