Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) don confirm say two people don die and six others wound for gas tanker explosion wey happen under Otedola Bridge for Tuesday night.
Dem still confirm say di incident wey happen around 8pm destroy 12 motors, eight keke, and one building.
Di wahala start when one 30-tonnes DAF truck wey no get registration number, wey dey carry Automated Gas Oil (AGO), fall for side as e dey bend go inside Omole. As e fall, fire explode come spread enter one Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) bungalow and one mechanic village.
On Wednesday morning, di Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, give update say di two people wey die na male adults.
E talk say three out of di six wey injure get serious burns and dem don carry dem go hospital, while di other three don receive first aid treatment.
Oke-Osanyintolu explain say:
“Around 8:14pm, LASEMA Tiger Response Team land di scene come see say di gas tanker don overturn and fire don catch am, wey don spread enter motors and houses.
“Dem quickly take safety measures and work to stop di fire make e no spread. Search and rescue still continue.
“Dem finally quench di fire by 10:02pm on Tuesday. Di dead bodies don dey with Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU), while di injured dey receive treatment.”
