Plateau Killings: ‘We Don Fail Una,’ Muftwang Beg Community

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State don beg the people of Bassa Local Government Area, say government and security people don fail to protect lives and properties.

This apology come less than 24 hours after gunmen kill 51 people for Zikke community, burn houses, and scatter families — just two weeks after similar attack kill many for Bokkos LGA.

On Tuesday, Mutfwang go the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Miango, where he talk say:

“I don dey cry since yesterday. I believe say we don put things in place to stop this kind of attack. But truth be say, from Sunday night to Monday morning, we fail una. I beg, make una forgive me.”

He talk say even though government don invest for security, sometimes human plans dey fail. He beg the people to still help protect their communities and give security agents good information to catch the criminals.

Mutfwang, with security chiefs and state officials, visit the affected Zikke community, sympathize with families, and see some victims wey don already bury their loved ones.

The Brangwe of Irigwe land, Ronku Aka, beg government to provide social amenities to help support the suffering people.

The people still cry say government must act fast to stop this insecurity wey don dey turn Plateau into battleground again.

President Bola Tinubu don order security to go find who dey behind the killings. He call the attacks wicked and unacceptable.

Experts say the wahala for Plateau na from fight over land and resources between farmers and herders, but Governor Mutfwang say this one pass that — e talk say na genocide and sponsored attacks. He even reveal say over 64 communities for the state don already fall into the hands of gunmen.
