Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, don petition the Inspector General of Police (IGP) say make dem invite and possibly arrest Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over wetin he call false and damaging statements wey she make against am.
For the petition wey Bello send through him lawyer N.A. Abubakar, he talk say Natasha accuse am wrongly during one event for her homecoming on April 1, 2025, for Okehi Local Government, and say she even talk say he dey involve for assassination plot.
Bello tell police say:
“If she no fit provide evidence for the allegations, make una arrest and prosecute her for defamation, causing public wahala, and spreading fake news.”
In another letter through lawyer R.O. Balogun, Bello also demand say Natasha must:
- Retract her statements
- Publicly apologise, or else she go face legal action
Bello say the things wey Natasha talk damage him name, and even make am look like a violent and vengeful politician.
He say she talk say:
“He plot to kill person and try disguise am as mob or ethnic violence.”
Him lawyer talk say this kind talk:
- Mislead the public
- Scatter trust among people for Ebiraland and Kogi Central
- Abuse her position as senator to spread falsehood
Dem also quote the Cybercrimes Act of 2015, say she break Section 24(1)(b) by spreading such kind heavy allegation online without proof.
