Quadri Yusuf Alabi, the 17-year-old boy wey become symbol of boldness during the 2023 elections after he stand in front of Peter Obi convoy, don finally regain him freedom after months of wrongful detention for Kirikiri prison.
Court discharge am on Wednesday, after the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) talk say no evidence dey support the armed robbery charge wey police put on top him head.
According to him lawyer Inibehe Effiong, na area boys for Quadri area — Lege and Baba Waris — kidnap and frame am. Dem don dey threaten am since 2023 say he no gree share the gift money wey people dash am after the viral convoy video.
Effiong talk say:
“Dem grab am for road as he dey return from work, beat am, and carry am go police. Even the Baale (community head) beg him family make dem give cow and food make dem settle the boys.”
At first, police accuse Quadri of just street fight, but later change am to armed robbery — and group am with four adults wey he no even know. Dem even lie say he be 18 years just to avoid handling the case like pikin own.

Now, Effiong dey ask for:
- Sack and punishment of the Amukoko DPO and IPO (Inspector Odigbe Samuel)
- Public apology
- ₦100 million compensation from Nigeria Police
Effiong yarn say:
“Plenty people like Quadri dey suffer for detention for Nigeria because of bad police work and justice system wey no get sense of accountability.”
