Labour Party Don Suspend Otti, Nwokocha, Kingibe, and Others

Labour Party don suspend six of dia big members including Abia State Governor Alex Otti, Senators Darlington Nwokocha and Ireti Kingibe, sake of wetin dem call anti-party behavior.

Others wey join for di suspension na Victor Afam Ogene, Amobi Ogah, and Seyi Sowunmi.

According to di party National Executive Council (NEC), dem make dis decision after one five-man disciplinary committee wey dem set up on May 2, 2025, come finish dia work and recommend make dem suspend di people dem wey dem check.

For one statement wey di National Secretary, Umar Farouk Ibrahim sign on Wednesday, di party talk say di suspension go start immediately and di people wey dem suspend no go fit take part for any Labour Party matter.

Di statement read say: “Last Friday, 2nd May 2025, NEC of Labour Party set up one committee to investigate Gov. Alex Otti and other people for anti-party behavior. Di committee don finish dia work and submit report. After meeting today, May 7, 2025, di party don agree with di committee recommendation.

“Because of that, we don suspend di following members from di party and all party activities with immediate effect:

  1. Dr. Alex Otti
  2. Senator Ireti Kingibe
  3. Senator Darlington Nwokocha
  4. Hon. Victor Afam Ogene
  5. Hon. Amobi Ogah
  6. Hon. Seyi Sowunmi”

Di party also explain why dem no suspend Nenadi Usman, say she no be registered member of di party, but just dey support Peter Obi. Dem say dem no go waste sanction on person wey no be member.

Labour Party still accuse Usman say she no get moral right to talk about corruption, as dem claim say she don enter plea bargain with EFCC and get some properties wey dem believe no clean.

Dem say: “Make she explain how she take get her radio station for Kaduna, her properties for Nigeria and abroad, and even her companies and plantations for Cameroon.”

Finally, di party say dem no dey plan enter any coalition or merger ahead of 2027 elections: “Labour Party go run 2027 general election on her own and we no dey talk merger again.”
