Di senator wey don dey National Assembly for over 20 years, say even former President Goodluck Jonathan bin get support from 22 governors from im party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during di 2015 election, but e still lose re-election to Muhammadu Buhari from di All Progressives Congress (APC).
On May 22, 2025, 22 APC governors gree together say make Tinubu be APC candidate for di 2027 election.
But Ndume, wey be one senior APC member, talk say him no support di governors’ decision because “things bad well well for di country” as e be now.
Him complain say di economic wahala too much, cost of living don high anyhow, and insecurity still dey disturb many parts of Nigeria. “Nigerians no fit see hope, dem dey doubt dis Renewed Hope,” na wetin him talk.
Ndume talk say he waka comot from di Banquet Hall for Presidential Villa for Abuja when dem begin endorse President Tinubu for re-election.
Ndume talk say, “I dey there but no be wetin carry me come be dat; I come for one summit but when I notice say no be summit again and dem begin do voice vote to endorse Mr President, I just waka comot. No mean say I no be APC member. Majority get their way but some of us no believe say na correct thing.”
“E don happen before, no be today. E happen during Jonathan time. But e no mean anything. Politicians dey decamp anyhow, but di real voters no dey decamp.
“I just hope say Mr President go look history and see say when people gather to endorse you, e no really mean anything.
“Jonathan bin get 22 governors wey endorse am that time just like now. But wetin happen? Jonathan lose badly. Dem spend plenty money. Dem even shift di election, but we no dey learn lesson. I pity Mr President,” Ndume add.
Ndume don dey National Assembly since 2003. E first represent Chibok/Damboa/Gwoza Federal Constituency for Borno State for two terms (2003 to 2011) for House of Reps. Later e enter Senate for 2011 as Senator for Borno South, and na dat seat e still dey hold till today.
