Yelewata: Tears Flow As Papa Reunite With Him Only Surviving Pikin After E Lose Wife, 3 Children

Na serious tears of both pain and joy flow on Tuesday for Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) as Mr. Targule Aya finally reunite with him only surviving pikin — 10-month-old baby Targule Aya — after him lose him wife and three other children for the Yelewata massacre.

The small pikin survive the deadly attack wey dem say na suspected herdsmen carry out for Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area. One person wey dey run comot from the area see the baby wey get knife wound for back, and na so dem rush am go hospital.

As dem reach, the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande, order make dem admit the baby sharp-sharp for the Children Ward. Because the baby too small and need care, one kind-hearted hospital worker, Mrs. Asongo Roseline, volunteer to look after the pikin day and night while the doctors dey try stabilize am.

Few days later, one woman wey also survive the attack and dey receive treatment for the same hospital — Mrs. Blessing Audu — recognize the baby. She quickly contact the papa, Mr. Targule Aya, wey still dey alive but don lose almost everything.

As papa and pikin meet again, the emotion too strong — plenty people wey see the moment cry. The man hold him pikin tight, thanking God say at least one part of him family still dey alive.

CMD Hwande, as he dey hand over the baby back to him papa, thank God say the child survive, and he praise all the hospital workers, especially Mrs. Roseline, for their love and dedication.

According to Mr. Tsenzughul Moses from the hospital’s Public Relations and Protocol Department, BSUTH go continue to give full medical support to make sure the baby recover well.

With him voice full of tears, the papa talk say, “Na God use this hospital save my only surviving child. I no go ever forget this kindness and love.”
