Di National Bureau of Statistics tok se road taxes says road taxes paid by Nigerians in 2023 increased by over forty-point-one-four billion naira.
The NBS said the figure represents about sixty-three percent increase in road taxes paid to state government compared to the previous year of 2022, which stood at twenty-four-point-five-seven billion naira.
The NBS report on Internally Generated Revenue for 2023 shows that the Federal Capital Territory did not collect any road tax revenue during the period.
The report shows that Lagos State topped the list of states that collected the highest road taxes, which is put at sixteen-point-seven-point-four billion naira.
