Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State don approve N634 million to pay di 2024/2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) fees for students wey dey public secondary schools for di state.

Di Chief Press Secretary to di governor, Mr. Ebenezer Adeniyan, talk dis one for statement wey e release on Friday for Akure.

According to di statement, di move na part of di effort to reduce di financial burden wey dey on parents and guardians.

E talk say di registration go cover 23,048 secondary school students wey pass di Joint Senior Secondary School II Promotion Examination wey di Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology conduct for di state.

“Over di years, di payment of WASSCE registration fees for public secondary school students for Ondo State don bring big relief for parents, guardians, and stakeholders, especially with di way economic wahala dey now.

“WASSCE na serious academic milestone for students, as e be di gateway to higher education and better job opportunities.

“Make di state government dey cover di registration fees every year go help make education balance for everybody, so say all eligible candidates fit write di exam without money wahala.

“Dis initiative go help reduce di gap between students from different financial backgrounds,” di statement tok.

E still confirm say di governor remain committed to fund WASSCE registration, as e be part of di main policy of e administration.
