Lucky Aiyedatiwa don officially become di Governor of Ondo State as e start him first full four-year term after di death of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for December 2023.
Di swearing-in ceremony happen on Monday for Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure, di state capital, two months after Aiyedatiwa win di governorship election under di All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to wetin dey di state government website, Aiyedatiwa born on January 12, 1965, for Obe-Nla, one oil-producing community for Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State. E start school for Saint Peter’s Primary School, Obe-Nla, and e finish him secondary education for Ikosi High School, Ketu, Lagos, for 1982.
E get Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) for Economics and Government from Lagos State College of Education (wey dem now dey call Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education) for 1986.
E later go University of Ibadan where e get Advanced Diploma for Business Administration for 2001, Postgraduate Certificate for Chief Executive Education from Lagos Business School for 2009, and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Liverpool for 2013.
Before e enter politics, Aiyedatiwa work for different industries like education, pharmaceuticals, finance, and general merchandise. For 1996, e start Blue Wall Group of Companies, wey dey do trading, foreign exchange, and travel logistics.
Him political journey start for 2011 under di Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), wey later join with other parties form APC. E serve as Federal Commissioner wey represent Ondo State for di Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Board from 2018 to 2019.
For 2020, e become Deputy Governor alongside Governor Akeredolu, and after Akeredolu die, e take over as governor.
Meanwhile, Akeredolu die on December 27, 2023, at di age of 67, after e battle prostate cancer for long. Him death na wetin make Aiyedatiwa become governor.
