Comedian AY Don Enter EFCC Hand As Dem Question Am For Spraying Naira

Nigeria comedian and actor Ayo Makun, wey people sabi as AY, don talk about how EFCC invite am recently over alleged abuse of di Naira.

For one post wey he share for him Instagram page on Wednesday, AY talk say na on Monday, May 5, 2025, dem invite am go EFCC office to explain why him spray both local and foreign currencies for one recent party — something wey Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) law dey see as Naira abuse.

According to wetin him write:

“I dey thank God for Him mercy and guidance. On Monday, EFCC invite me go their office because of incident wey involve spraying money — both Naira and foreign currency — for public. Dem classify am as Naira abuse.”

AY come talk say EFCC later clear am after dem confirm say di money no get anything to do with crime or illegal business.

“I thank EFCC and all di people wey dey involved for understanding and for pardon me after dem confirm say di money no come from any criminal thing.”

Him say di whole experience teach am better lesson, and from now on, he go dey help promote respect for di Naira. He also tell Nigerians say even though spraying money for parties don become normal thing for events like wedding and burial, e still dey against law.

“Make we know say to spray, tear or misuse Naira na against di law. E dey reduce di value and respect of our money.”

He end di post with warning say di Naira na symbol of Nigeria’s identity and people need to respect am.

Also, actress Iyabo Ojo confirm say EFCC contact her too while she dey UK, and she show face for their office on May 5 when she come back Nigeria. Dem question her about her daughter wedding wey just happen.

Both AY and Iyabo don promise say dem go use their platforms take educate Nigerians about why dem suppose respect the Naira and avoid abuse like spraying or tearing am.
