Popular street singer Portable (real name Habeeb Okikiola) don land inside wahala again. Court for Ilorin, Kwara State, don grant am ₦1 million bail, but as he never meet di condition, dem don remand am for Oke Kura Correctional Centre.
Dem carry am go court over multiple charges like:
- Criminal defamation
- Cyberstalking
- Intimidation
- Public disturbance
Di case come from one Instagram live video wey Portable do on March 19, where he talk anyhow about veteran Fuji star Saheed Osupa. For di video, Portable yarn say:
“This man dey try bring down my shine! He be like person wey dey chop snail with shell—him no get sense. Osupa carry tortoise for stomach…”
Osupa report am say the talk damage him name and fit cause fight or bad blood for public. Him management, DMCE, also say Portable no just insult Osupa, he still use Osupa’s music without permission, especially for one track called “Fuji Shakushaku”, wey Apple Music later remove.
Police carry out full investigation after dem get petition from Osupa on March 21. Dem arrest Portable for Abeokuta around 7:25 pm on Saturday, then transfer am go Ilorin.
Court say Portable fit get bail if he bring two sureties:
- One must be Chairman or Secretary of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN)
- Di other person must get land for GRA Ilorin, with Certificate of Occupancy
As at now, Portable never meet di condition, so dem lock am up. Di court don adjourn di case go April 30, and tell everybody make dem calm down.
This na not the first time Portable go face court. From assault, unpaid car debt, to fighting government officials — e don get plenty wahala with police since 2023.
