According to di section, president fit only declare state of emergency if:
(a) Nigeria dey for war;
(b) Nigeria dey face serious threat of invasion or war;
(c) Public order and safety don scatter well-well for di country or any part of am, wey go need strong action to restore peace;
(d) E get serious danger wey fit cause wahala wey go need extra measures to stop am;
(e) E get natural disaster or serious emergency wey don happen or fit happen;
(f) E get any other public danger wey fit shake di country well-well;
(g) Di President receive official request from people wey di law don give power to make dat kind decision.
