For Instagram on Monday, Raye talk say she no mean to offend Lagos people and she regret di way she take talk am.
She explain say she no get intention to insult people wey dey live for Lagos, but she just dey share her honest observation as person wey newly come di state.
She also talk say di controversial statement na part of one 30-day rant challenge wey she start to highlight Nigeria wahala. According to her, di plan na to make her voice dey heard and make people reason di economic hardship wey dey affect di country.
She write, “I wan first talk say I dey sorry to people wey dem born and raise for Lagos if wetin I talk pain una. I dey sorry.
“But as person wey newly come, I notice say di air and di atmosphere dey different. If di way wey I talk am touch your emotions and love for your state, I dey sorry. I no mean to talk down on Lagos.”
She explain say she plan to post 20 videos wey go touch different societal problems, hoping say by di 20th day, Nigerians go don dey reason di matter. But na di first video don already blow, and many people relate to wetin she talk.
Raye still talk about di financial wahala wey young Nigerians dey face, say even after working 45+ hours every week, e still hard to afford small enjoyment.
“When I start di 30-day rant challenge, I just wan make people hear me. I believe say if I reach Day-20, people go begin join me talk to di government.
“But lucky for me, I no even need reach Day-2, because e be like say many of us dey vex already, and Day-1 of di challenge don make people join me.
“I wan better for myself. (And I hope say una wan better too). Di complaints wey I make dey valid, no matter di ‘lifestyle’ wey una think say I dey live.
“I dey work more than 45 hours every week, I suppose fit afford to go flex with my friends every weekend, but I no fit. But how many of us fit do am? How many fit really afford dat kind thing? Person go work all week but no fit enjoy small during weekend.”
She encourage Nigerians make dem no lose focus, say instead make everybody continue to demand better living conditions.
“I go like make all of us ask for wetin we sabi say we deserve. I know say distractions go still come again soon, but if we stay committed to asking for better, we go get better,” she add.
Since Saturday, Raye don dey trend for social media after her TikTok video wey she take talk about di economic hardship and inflation for Nigeria go viral.
For di video, she express frustration over di high cost of living and talk say President Bola Tinubu na “terrible leader,” as she question wetin di government dey do to help di people.
