Di Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, don give strong warning to all police officers for di country say make dem no dey violate human rights or do any bad conduct.
For virtual meeting wey e get with police managers on Monday, di IGP talk say officers must follow di right way to do work and obey police rules. According to wetin Force Spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, talk, di IGP don ban officers from carrying big guns like assault rifles if dem dey wear ordinary cloth (mufti).
E talk say many Nigerians don dey complain through police complaint channels, and e no go allow any officer violate human rights anyhow. Anybody wey no follow di rule go collect serious punishment.
Di statement talk say, “Di IGP don warn all tactical squads make dem no misuse power or dress anyhow. E talk say make dem always wear di correct uniform wey police approve for dem work.”
E still tell di tactical squads say make dem obey di standard police rules and make sure say dem wear di right uniform wey dem suppose wear.
Apart from dat one, di IGP vex for di way some officers dey transfer cases anyhow without written approval. E talk say dis kind behavior dey disturb di victims and dey delay justice.
“Dis kind thing no go happen again, and we no go tolerate am,” di IGP talk.
Di IGP directives show say police authority wan improve professionalism, make officers dey accountable, and build better trust between police and di people. All officers must follow di new rules to make sure say policing for Nigeria dey better and fair for everybody.
