President Bola Tinubu go talk to di nation by 7 o’clock for Thursday morning as part of di activities to take mark 2025 Democracy Day celebration.

Tinubu go also attend joint session for National Assembly inside di National Assembly complex for Abuja.

Abdulhakeem Adeoye wey talk on behalf of di committee’s Director, Information & Public Relations, say after Tinubu address di nation, im go waka go National Assembly joint session by 12 noon.

But Adeoye still talk say this year, dem no go do Democracy Day parade. Later for di day, dem go hold public lecture for State House Conference Centre, Abuja by 4 o’clock for evening.

Di theme of di lecture na: “Consolidating on the Gains of Nigeria’s Democracy: Necessity of Enduring Reforms”.

This year own go make am 26 years wey Nigeria don dey enjoy democracy without military wahala since 1999 wey soldiers hand over power.

Before before, dem dey celebrate Democracy Day on May 29—di day wey dem dey swear in president, governors, National Assembly and state lawmakers. But for 2018, dem shift am go June 12 to honour di 1993 presidential election wey dem cancel and wey MKO Abiola win. Many people dey see dat election as one of di most correct election wey Nigeria don ever do.

Di 2025 Democracy Day go be Tinubu third time to celebrate am as president since im enter office for 2023 after one serious election.

Even as Nigeria don run 26 years of straight democracy, some people still dey ask whether true democracy dey for di country.
