Di Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) don confirm say dem arrest Martins Otse, wey pipo sabi as VeryDarkMan, because of serious tori wey concern alleged financial wahala.
For statement wey dem drop on Tuesday, EFCC talk say dem invite VDM based on plenti petitions wey reach dia office, all of dem na about money matter wey no clear.
Dem say despite say dem send am several invites through places and channels wey dem know say e dey use, e no still show face.
“E refuse to show face despite several invitations wey we send give am,” di statement talk.
EFCC come beg Nigerians make dem no dey speculate or assume wetin no sure, say make pipo allow dem do dia work as di law take allow.
“Make EFCC do dia work without fear or favour,” dem talk. “Once investigation finish, if e get case, we go file am for court.”
Dem also clear say even though VDM don talk many things against EFCC before, na no be di reason why dem arrest am. Di arrest na strictly based on di petitions.
“Di EFCC know about di kain tins wey Otse don talk about us, but na no be why we arrest am. Di arrest na about di financial cases wey dem report against am,” dem add.
EFCC also mention say dem get correct court order to hold am for custody as dem dey continue investigation.
“EFCC get di legal right to hold Otse like every other suspect, and we don get correct remand order to back am up,” dem talk.
Dem still talk say dem don give VDM administrative bail, and once e meet di conditions, dem go release am.
